The 2025 National Advertising Conference is set to be a landmark event in Nigeria’s advertising landscape, with a strong emphasis on how technology is reshaping the industry. Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos, Dr. Fadolapo emphasized that the conference serves as a critical platform for advertising professionals to exchange ideas, evaluate current practices, and discuss strategies for sustainable development. The event, scheduled to take place from November 12 to 14, 2025, will center around the theme "Marketing Communication: Transforming Businesses, and Creating Growth in Challenging Times."

Technological Disruption and Industry Insights

Dr. Fadolapo pointed out that the rapid evolution of technology has created significant disruptions not only in advertising but across the broader economy. He mentioned that the conference will delve into the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging tools in transforming the advertising business. These discussions aim to generate actionable insights that can guide the industry toward more effective and innovative practices.

“We will be looking at tech. You know, in the last few years, technology is causing a major disruption. Not only in advertising, but in the economy. So now, how does this, or how is this affecting the Nigerian advertising ecosystem? Talk of AI, talk of some other tools that are primary to advertising business. So we're looking at this, we're particularly investigating, we're interrogating, we're coming up with more of a program, a protocol which will be a recommendation to ARCON,” he explained.

The involvement of the Federal Government through the office of the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, has played a crucial role in supporting the conference. This collaboration has helped organizers achieve their goals while also promoting advertising as a key driver of national development.
